Special Called Session of City Council
Monday, Dec. 22, 2008 at 5:00 PM

Welcome  - Mayor Holsendolph said "Welcome".
Establish Quorum - Everyone was there including Sherry Wood, Ryan Godrdon, Cornelious Holsendolph, Reggie Stacks, Lydia Day and Bill Wetherington. 

Members of Staff included Jessica Freeman, Mike Terrell, Ron Woods, Lisa Mashburn and Lea Lacey.

And let's not forget the guest of honor, Brian McDougal.

Ten members of the public attended.

Council voted to immediately go into Executive Session.  

 New Business:
 1. Discussion between Mayor/Council and Departments heads concerning the transition to Interim City Manager Chief Mike Terrell. - Mayor/Council - Never happened.

City of Remerton Emergency Called Meeting

City Council Chambers

Establish a Quorum of Council- In attendance were Mayor Holsendolph, Council Members Wood, Stacks, Day and Wetherington (Ryan Gordon was absent). 

Chief Terrel attended by speakerphone.  Jessica Freeman took minutes.  There were six members of the public in the audience.

 1.   Discussion concerning City Manager Brian McDougal's interview and job offer from the city of Shawnee, OK and it's ramifications on the City of Remerton.

2.  The appointment of an Interim City Manager. 

A Special Called Meeting is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 22nd at 5:00 PM in council chambers which will be attended by all department heads, the city attorney and Mr. McDougal (if available).

The Mayor and Council are looking forward to a smooth transition which will include the cooperation and assistance of Mr. McDougal.

City Manager Brian McDougal is in Shawnee, Oklahoma today (Dec. 18), interviewing for the position of City Manager.  Although he will surely be missed here, our prayers and hopes are with him for this opportunity.

The interviews lasted for several hours.  Shawnee's Council recessed around five in the afternoon and reconvened at 9:30 PM.  They immediately went into an Executive (closed) session that lasted until around 11PM.

A recess was called and the Shawnee Council will reconvene at 3:00PM, Friday.  A decision is expected at that time. Stay tuned...

  3:47 Friday, Dec. 19:  Shawnee, OK City Commission has unanimously agreed to offer Brian McDougal a contract!!

We are all very happy for Brian.  Go Sooner!

Looks like Mayor Holsendolph will be assuming his role as Chief Executive Officer until a replacement for McDougal is found.
