Image

Police sirens were heard on Remerton's Plum Street around 5;00 PM on Wednesday, Sept. 23.  At least six police vehicles from Lowndes Sheriff's department and the Remerton Police Department converged on an apartment building.

At around 5:30 PM a handcuffed, young white male was taken into custody by an officer from the Lowndes Sheriff's department.

Witnesses at the scene said that the young man had allegedly sold drugs to an undercover officer earlier in the day.

FU Remerton, your Police Dept and your Noise Ordinance!
Monday, 21 September 2009

LOL If your cops show up you can't get the reading required by the ordinance. We've simply posted a lookout to alert the band to turn it down a notch so you can't take a 5 minute reading.  After you've packed up your meter we'll turn it back up.  Give it up dummies, you can't win.  That 30 grand you blew on a noise ordinance is defeated by our 20 buck chair!

Ooh, ooh, good idea bro.  We'll do it too...

NEW BUSINESS:
1. Financial Report-Lisa Mashburn-

Up to this point the meeting could have ended in a new record time of only 4 minutes.  But, an unscheduled item was presented by City Attorney Brad Folsom concerning the upcoming requirements of the GSICA and the S.A.V.E. program (Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements).

"Section 9 of the Georgia Security and Immigration Compliance Act requires all state agencies that administer “public benefits” to obtain a sworn affidavit from all applicants for public benefits regarding citizenship and/or lawful presence/alien status."

Click here to read more about the GSICA and SAVE.

ADJOURN -  Finally, after a full 8 minutes it ended.  Definitely a new record for this council.
