Sunday’s editorial in the VDTimes is another stellar example of insightful political commentary. The editor states, “Many people have likely taken the confounding position of being opposed to the stimulus package…” Now there’s something you can take to the bank. Many people have also likely slipped in the bathtub and fallen off step-ladders, but it’s hard to say what should be done about it. The editor said, “We believe the numbers tell the story and readers can draw their own conclusions.” I have drawn the conclusion that the editor doesn’t know what the story is about or what the numbers mean. The editor refers to “the Georgia,” as if he or she were reviewing a musical in which “the Georgia,” were a kind of regional dance. The editor concludes that “the stimulus money seems to be going where the people are.” Must we worry now that stimulus money will be given to animals and plants instead of people? Confounding indeed!
