CITY OF REMERTON REGULAR MEETING MONDAY, FEBRUARY 8, 2010 5:30 P.M. Welcome Guests. Pledge and Prayer- Led by Mayor Holsendolph Establish Quorum of Council-There are currently four filled seats on council, occupied by Sherry Wood, Ryan Gordon, Reggie Stacks and Bill Wetherington. All members were present.
Approval of minutes from Regular Council Meeting, Monday, January 11, 2010-Approved. Citizens to be Heard-None. NEW BUSINESS: 1. Financial Report-Lisa Mashburn, City Clerk-The General Fund balance is ~$118K, ~$149K is held in several CD's, the SPLOST 5 account has ~$159K and the SPLOST 6 account ~$217K. About $38K was collect in utility fees last month.
2. Consideration regarding changing the required food percentages for City establishments under current Alcohol Ordinance. Suspend item CD 6-1 item 6 of codification-City Attorney Brad Folsom threw a bucket of water on Couucil's plan to cross out parts of the Alcohol Ordinance tonight. He pointed out an amendment to the ordinance would have to be created and given two readings before a vote could be taken. The first reading will be at the March Work Session.
3. Discussion regarding Resolution to adopt the 2009 updates to the Greater Lowndes 2030 Comprehensive Plan-Ann Marie Wolfe, City of Valdosta.Amanda Peacock of the RDC made the presentation and the updates were approved. OLD BUSINESS: 1. Consideration regarding final pay out request for Standard Contractors, Inc regarding water distribution system- Jack Byrd, City Administrator-Final payment of ~$125K was approved. About ~$13K is being retained pending some minor details being resolved. ADJOURN-Sixteen minutes from Pledge to Adjourn-good work, Council!
